This quintessential 1960s mid-century modern house was marred by a dilapidated sun porch. The clients contacted inHabit to design a new room more compatible with the house's original architecture. The resulting sun-drenched addition features an expanse of windows and skylights that open the room to the arboretum at the rear of the property.
The addition creates connections between the living room, dining room, and kitchen - a feature lacking in the previous space. With newfound circulation paths, the renovation enables the homeowners to move freely through the spaces and to emotionally connect to the house in its entirity.
