inHabit used an asymmetric roof slope, large windows, and an array of skylights to brighten and add visual interest to a linear rowhouse. A third-floor office addition was built above an existing two-story structure to take advantage of the southern exposure. The roof slope maximizes natural light and reduces the mass of the addition for the neighbors. The loftiness and distinct ceiling shape give this room the feeling of being perched in the sky.
A mezzanine level provides a sleeping area for guests and access to a roof deck overlooking the city skyline. The deck was finished with LED lights and built-in planter boxes that double as benches.
